It’s with a heavy heart that we convey the unexpected passing of Felicia Ann Martinez-Alegria on
May 25, 2023. Felicia was born on October 1, 1977, in Denver, CO. Daughter of Felix Martinez and Vivian Riojas. Felicia was the second oldest and beloved sister of Joe & Victor.
Felicia’s life would seem too short too many, but those of us who were blessed to be touched by her understand that her existence and the imprint she left in our hearts exceed the quality of time that she stayed here.
Felicia was married to Samuel Alegria, they met in 2001 and later wed in 2007. They shared four beautiful children whom she loved so dearly. Her oldest twins Terrance and Jacob and then Odelia and the youngest Logen. From her children came their grandchildren Ezperanza, Jeremiah, and Mateo.
Felicia had an amazing sense of humor and a contagious laugh! She made her family laugh with the shocking things she would say or her silly responses. She may have appeared shy and quiet at times but most of the time her sense of humor shined bright. Felicia’s personality was crazy, and her wit was razor sharp. She was a loving human being, she kept things “real” with no room for phoniness. Felicia loved to cook, and her specialty was cooking authentic Mexican food. Sam shared her cooking was “the sh*t”! She was a clean freak and Clorox was her friend, therefore her apartment was always spic-and-span, and she didn’t mess around. She also developed a passion to draw and was quite talented. She created so many beautiful drawings for herself, children, grandchildren, and Sam.
Felicia enjoyed the simple life. Felicia and Sam were never into materialistic things. They kept things straightforward and enjoyed and cherished the good times they had together. Loving and spending time with the children/grandchildren, going to the mountains and fishing, laughing and talking about random things, enjoying their surroundings whether driving around running errands, visiting family, cooking, lounging in front of the tv, walking around the park with the grandchildren, or just lying there in silence embraced in each other’s arms.
Felicia’s husband, children and grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life. The legacy of Felicia’s ‘keep it real’ spirit, love of family and the zest for the simple life will live on through them.
Felicia is survived by her husband, Samuel R. Alegria; sons Terrance Goetz, Jacob Goetz, and Logen Goetz; father Felix Martinez; brothers Joseph (Rhonda) Coronado, Victor Martinez; mother-in-law Carol Lee Ortega; sister-in-law Christine (Billy) Martinez, sister-in-law Jackie (Henry) Armijo, brother-in-law
Ted (Wanda) Alegria, sisters-in-law Regina Alegria and Stephanie Alegria; three grandchildren
Ezperanza Goetz, Jeremiah Goetz, and Mateo Goetz; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Felicia is preceded in death by her daughter; Odelia Marie Goetz; mother Vivian Odelia Riojas; grandmothers Mary Hayes and Elva Martinez; grandfathers Felix Riojas and Felix Martinez.
Felicia will be greatly missed by all those that she’s left behind. Our hearts are so broken by the unexpected loss. She was one of a kind and to be loved by her was to be truly blessed.
